The topic was chosen because it's interesting, and because of the fact that globalization is bringing the world closer together.
About the Research
It's proven extremely difficult to research this topic effectively; using parameters like "drug addiction India" returns far too much information; narrowing it down to "drug usage +India +youth" returns too little. (The Indians themselves admit that it is difficult to find statistics about their country.) The only option was to search repeatedly, changing the search terms every time, a time-consuming and cumbersome process. Doing that finally turned up a few things that provide some information; we'll look at them individually and then draw some conclusions.
