When we see a cartoon rabbit on TV standing upright, talking and wearing clothes, we are seeing an example of anthropomorphism. A good example of anthropomorphic language would be the phrase “and the dish ran away with the spoon” from the popular nursery rhyme. An “angry” black cloud, a computer that has just “died,” and a TV commercial in which an animated automobile with eyes for headlights and teeth for a radiator grille talks about how much she wishes for a certain grade of gasoline, all are examples of anthropomorphic languages and images.
