Beginning October 22, 1962 the Cuban Missile Crisis revolved around the intention of the USSR to install ballistic missile in Cuba. These missiles were not only capable of hitting U.S. targets, they were fully capable of hitting Canadian targets as well. While the U.S. reaction to this crisis was swift, however, Canadian reaction occurred at a much slower pace and was reluctantly made largely in response to U.S. requests.
