Angela goes home and when her brothers find out about the predicament they are angry and kill Santiago, the boy who deflowered Angela. While that is the basis of the plot, the novel is something that is rather intricate. There are of course a great many details in this compelling novel. While the plot is simple structurally, the narrative flow is not linear.
