World War II had seemed to change life forever. Europe was in shambles and would have to be rebuilt. In the midst of the reinvention of European countries, the region would be separated into two blocs. The blocs emanated due to agreements made between Russia and the western powers. After armies of the west met the armies of Soviet forces in 1945 Europe, they withdrew from parts of Germany that had been assigned to Soviet occupation (Roberts, 1993). Austria was shared too and the rest of Eastern Europe that was north of Greece had been allowed to exist under Soviet occupation or control...
