Can the educational process in American be transformed to make schools more equitable for all students regardless of their sex? Since the publication of the report of the American Association of University of Women in 1992, How School Shortchange Girls, there has been much debate on how girls and boys may be treated differently by the educational institutions in the United States. One of the issues is whether or not teachers tend to socialize boys and girls differently. Another issue is whether the differences in the success of boys and girls in fields associated with math and science can be attributed to education preferences.
