Garlic comes from the genus Allium which is a genus that also includes such things as leeks and onions (Genus of the Week, 2004). This genus is recognized by the fact that it grows in bulb formation (Genus of the Week, 2004). It is also, interestingly enough, part of the lily family, Liliaceae (Genus of the Week, 2004).
Garlic is considered an herb and they possess muted green leaves that are flat (Garlic Fest, 2004). The leaves can grow to 2 feet tall and there is a round top that possesses white blooms...
