Literature Review

I'll examine several recent articles with regard to distribution systems and current thinking about logistical problems. Literature reviews are somewhat "choppy" by nature, since I'm going to present a series of summaries; I'll try to smooth it out when we come to comparing the points of similarity.
A good starting point is a website devoted to a report from the retail food sector. It discusses the trends in distribution channels, and says that "distribution points in Australia are centralized" and that all the major supermarkets and "clubs" (i.e., wholesale and warehouse-type stores) "operate their own network of national and regional distribution centers" (Hassall & Associates, 2003).
