With help from Yoshio Kodama, a war criminal with links to both the underworld and officials in the Japanese ruling party, Lockheed secured the contract. Kadoma remained a Lockheed “consultant” well into the 1970s, until Lockheed was investigated by the U.S. government in this matter of bribes.
