After all, it seems that it is the case that people who simply hear something, and believe it, are rather easily led. As some have observed, people are sheep. They go to church and believe what the preacher says, suggesting that not to do so would be blasphemy. Similarly, they believe everything they hear on the news. Reading the National Enquirer for example gives them information about aliens babies and mysterious happenings and they are inclined to believe those things. After all, they have seen pictures.
Of course, the general public is not always so gullible, and in fact, it is the critic or philosopher or academic who is criticized. It is the academic who questions God's existence and in fact, everything. Not believing in something at first glance, the educated mind assesses and reasons and draws a conclusion. But...
