Introduction
When it comes to doing business in another country, there's more to it than simply going overseas, finding a tract of dirt or a storefront, setting up shop, then hanging out a shingle.
Though we technically live in a world without borders today thanks, in part, to technology such as the Internet, doing business in another country involves a great deal of study and understanding about everything from a country's cultural mores to what days are appropriate to do business. In many countries, hiring child labor is just fine, while entrusting women to top executive positions (or even sending in women to negotiate) is considered a forbidden thing.
In this paper, we'll present a thorough examination of Singapore as a potential place to do business. We'll examine this country's background, as well as what type of place it is to do business. We'll also examine the economics of the country and its form of government, among other things.
Once we've completed our examination of Singapore, we'll initiate a discussion as to whether this is a country which would be good to enter for doing business.
