The conflict between Palestine and Israel has become quite prominent in recent years, and to some extent, the United States has gotten involved. One may look at the conflict with respect to the international strategy equation. The equation includes the objectives of preserving independence, maintaining freedom and preserving the territorial integrity of the United States. Maintaining U.S. allied interests abroad is another part of the equation and helping to shape a world where freedom and democracy reign is also an important dimension in foreign policy.
